Prenatal Sampling Unit

Two main methods of prenatal sampling are Amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS). Amniocentesis or sampling of the amniotic fluid (the fluid surrounding the embryo which contains embryonic cells) is usually performed between 15 to 19 weeks of gestation. CVS is usually performed from 10 to 14 weeks of gestation. These techniques are performed by experienced specialists at this center.
